Private Study Time Guidelines |
|
v Where numbers permit or when requested by Librarian / Supervisor, students should sit one to a desk / carrel
v Students should respect the right of others to study in a quiet, noise free environment
v Students should realise that it is difficult to focus on their own study, if they are talking or being disruptive
v Personal listening devices may be used but only if not audible to others – remember your prime purpose, and that of your fellow students, is to make productive use of study time
v Mobile telephones may be used to listen to music (see Personal Listening Devices above) but they are not to be used for the making or receiving of calls
v Students going to Privilege Periods / Prefect Room / Computer Suites etc. may do so only at the beginning of a period and then only after ‘signing out’ with the Librarian / Supervisor
v Students in Library / Study Hall need to ask permission before leaving during a period – valid reasons need to be given
v Students should keep their study area neat and tidy
- binning waste paper and any other rubbish
v Students may bring bottled water to drink during Private Study.
Please note that the Library / Study Hall is not the place for the consumption of other drinks or snacks
v Students should be aware that those who persist to abuse Private Study privilege or continue to behave in an inappropriate manner may be removed from the Library / Study Hall and be required to study under supervision in a classroom
